4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 12 oz can orange soda
½ cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 garlic clove
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 garlic clove
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 tablespoon corn starch
hot cooked rice
1. Heat olive oil in medium skillet. Brown chicken on all sides, place in slow cooker. Mix orange soda, soy sauce, ginger, onion powder and garlic. Pour mixture over chicken in slow cooker. Cover; cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3 hours.
2. 20 minutes before serving remove approximately 1 cup of liquid, place in small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of corn starch and mix. Pour into a medium skillet on high heat. Cook until sauce boils and thickens. Remove from heat. Use sauce to spoon over chicken before serving.
note: while this recipe uses orange soda there is not a lot of orange flavor. If you would like more orange flavor consider adding orange peel or orange juice concentrate.
